This is the Modesty Survey from the Rebelution to help”Christian Sisters” help their “Christian Brothers” not lust so freaking much.
“I don’t have a problem with them preaching their ideas in their blog, but I do start to get annoyed when they start telling me how to dress and how my choices in clothing because what I wear ‘tempts’ and ‘tests’ good Christian men as that goes against God’s teachings. I love how they broke the results down into separate articles of clothing. As though I’m going to go to this Web site every day to make sure that my clothing choices are appropriate…and Oh my gosh, never EVER lean over in front of a guy with ‘your backside’ towards them. It’s a ‘stumbling block.’”
(Thanks E)

Here’s what pisses me off about shit like this. Surveys like this reinforce the notion that women are responsible for the behavior of men. And that leads to those bullshit PSAs about how women have to constantly protect themselves to keep men from raping them instead of placing the blame where it rightfully belongs.

Had to reblog because her comment is right on target. I can easily see this mentality leading to the “well what did she expect dressed like that/in that place/acting that way?” defense that makes me absolutely crazy. If you can’t control yourself, its your own damn fault.

Best of 2009

February: Audio of Christian Bale cursing out a director of photography for Terminator Salvation was released. Bale later apologized, but the phrase “do you want me to trash your fuckin’ lights” had already become part of the ONTD vernacular.

RELATED: The return of the Senor Bale lady, AKA THE BEST INTERVIEWER EVER. A TDK party ensues.
